remote pivot + launch
The challenge
The original documentary production model relied on in-person collaboration that COVID made impossible, creating gaps in communication that left additional content opportunities on the table.
The approach
Interviewed key stakeholders to identify where the production process could support more content creation, then proposed optimized production models that maximized output while minimizing disruption to existing staff and resources.
The results
The framework guided the launch of Southland Sessions, spotlighting the work of 283 organizations — 43% of which went on to receive LA Arts Recovery Fund grants.
In 2020, after quickly converting to a remote workflow, we launched a brand new digital and television project called 'Southland Sessions' to give a platform to artists and creators. Carren worked tirelessly to give voice to so many and curated an outstanding lineup of reports, performances and resources with integrity and brilliance.
